[Satellite Today 06-05-09] A special committee set up by OpenTV has rejected an offer from The Kudelski Group to buy all of OpenTV’s shares, Kudelski announced June 4.
In a statement, Kudelski said it was “disappointed” by the OpenTV committee’s decision and that the company still faced “serious strategic challenges” which could impact its revenues and margins and that these challenges had been “significantly underestimated” by the special committee.
The Kudelski Group had announced plans to acquire the outstanding Class A ordinary shares of OpenTV at $1.35 per share in February. The Kudelski Group acquired a controlling ownership interest in OpenTV in October 2006.
