[Satellite Today 06-01-09] Virginia News Network has upgraded its broadcast infrastructure to use the X-Digital satellite receiver system, parent company Clear Channel Communication announced May 29.
    The X-Digital XDS-PRO4 satellite receiver allows live broadcasts, store and forward, copy split–spot insertion, live audio record, playback and addressability. The XDS-PRO4 gives radio networks ability to provide local, regional or nationwide spot insertions for their advertisers.
    “We had been searching for a reasonably priced replacement for our aging satellite system that would allow us to utilize store and forward technology, X-Digital was the obvious solution.” said Jim Poling, regional engineering manager for Clear Channel Communications, in a statement.
