[Satellite Today 05-08-09] Sirius XM Radio reported first quarter revenue of $605.5 million, up 5 percent from a year ago when the two satellite operators reported revenues of a combined $578.8 million prior to their July merger, Sirius XM reported May 7.
The net loss was slashed from $233.4 million in the first three months of 2008 to $62.9 million in the 2009 first quarter.
Sirius XM closed the quarter with 18.6 million subscribers, up from 18 million combined subscribers at the end of March 2008 but down from 19 million at the end of 2008.
