[Satellite Today 05-06-09] The Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) and MediaQuest are developing a high-definition (HD) direct-to-home (DTH) offering for commercial release in 2009, PLDT announced in its first quarter 2009 financial report released May 9.
The offer would include several channels in either 720 or 1080 progressive scanning resolution. The service is being tested by a select group of subscribers in Manila and other provinces.
MediaQuest’s subsidiary MediaScapeis the licensed broadcast TV provider for the service.
