[Satellite Today 04-14-09] ViaSat signed a $1.8 million contract with Canadian provider Juch-Tech to expand VSAT services to Africa, ViaSat announced April 13.
The contract supports expansion of Juch-Tech services in Africa with an upgrade to ViaSat’s LinkStar hub, which includes DVB-S2 adaptive coding and modulation as well as the purchase of 2,000 ViaSat LinkStar S2A terminals, ViaSat said.
Juch-Tech’s services will originate from a teleport in Hamilton, Ontario, and the company also will move an Intelsat LinkStar VSAT hub it recently purchased to the Hamilton facility.
