[Satellite Today 03-31-09] Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX) will launch Astronautic Technology Sdn Bhd’s (ATSB) RazakSat satellite on a Falcon 1 rocket during a launch window that opens at 7 p.m. EDT April 20, SpaceX announced March 30.
    RazakSat, designed and built by Malaysia-basd ATSB, carries a high-resolution medium-sized aperture camera and will be placed into a near equatorial orbit. The payload is intended to provide high-resolution images of Malaysia that can be used land management, resource development and conservation, forestry and fish migration.
    SpaceX completed the first successful launch of its Falcon 1 in September. The vehicle placed a dummy payload with a mass of about 165 kilograms in orbit. The rocket had failed in its three previous launches.
    Falcon 1 Flight 5 will launch from Kwajalein Atoll in the Central Pacific.
