[Satellite Today 02-19-09] Pradman Kaul, chairman and CEO of Hughes Network Systems, has been named Via Satellite‘s Satellite Executive of the Year for 2008.
    Kaul was recognized for his ability to anticipate the evolutions of the satellite market and maintain Hughes leadership. Under Kaul’s leadership, Hughes obtained more than 50 percent market share in the enterprise VSAT market globally, posting a strong series of wins both in North America and internationally. 
    “Pradman Kaul has proven himself a visionary and entrepreneur in the satellite marketplace, a factor which was proven by his success in 2008,” said Jason Bates, editor of Via Satellite. “Thanks to Kaul’s leadership, and the acumen of his experienced management team, we are looking forward to what will be accomplished at Hughes in 2009 and beyond.”
    Kaul will be presented with his award at the Satellite Executive of the Year award luncheon March 26, and a reception in his honor will be held that evening. Both events take place during the Satellite 2009 Conference and Exhibition at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
