[Satellite Today 01-30-09] Raytheon Co. reported 2008 fourth quarter income of $466 million, compared to $420 million in the fourth quarter 2007, the company announced Jan. 29.
Raytheon’s fourth quarter sales were $6.1 billion, up slightly from $6 billion in 2007. The company ended the year with a record backlog of $38.9 billion in orders and $50 million of net debt.
"Raytheon had a successful 2008 with strong bookings, a record backlog and solid growth in sales and operating income," William Swanson, Raytheon chairman and CEO, said in a statement.
