[Satellite Today 01-16-09] The Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS) has created the ATIS home networking forum, a centralized body responsible for comprehensively addressing home networking standards, ATIS announced Jan. 15.
    The forum will assess the variety of on-going home networking standards development work and aims to provide solutions to the home networking standards development arena. ATIS said the forum’s creation was a specific recommendation of its home networking assessment and work plan created by a focus group that included representatives from Cisco Systems, Verizon, AT&T, Alcatel Lucent, Ericsson, Qwest, Sony, Hitachi, ADC, Corning, Haywire, Intrado, Conexant Systems and Widevine. 
    The forum has scheduled its initial meeting for Feb. 3.
