[Satellite Today 12-31-08] SeaMobile, in collaboration with iDirect and Eutelsat, has deployed a 5IF iDirect hub in Turin, Italy, in an effort to expand its Geolink access network and increase capabilities for VSAT customers, SeaMobile announced Dec. 23.
    The hub includes iDirect’s DVB-S2 with adaptive coding and modulation and an Evolution X3 router.
SeaMobile said that the establishment of this hub at the Eutelsat Skypark teleport in Turin, allows Geolink to access satellites W3A, W6, AB1, AB3, Telstar 12, Eurobird3, Seasat2.
     “Geolink Access, the IP service provided by SeaMobile Europe, is already a well-established brand in Africa and the new iDirect platform will enable their service to be expanded into the Middle East and Central Asian territories,” said Rash Jahnjee, vice president of iDirect.
