[Satellite Today 12-19-08] Newtec is expanding its Astra2Connect network of SES Astra distribution partners with new Internet service providers in the United Kingdom and Spain, Newtec announced Dec. 19
    Eurosat will resell the Astra2Connect service under its brand name BeyonDSL in the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland. Spanish cable operator TeleCable will distribute the service in Spain. LTO Commerce, the sales division of the Dutch Federation of Agriculture and Horticulture, will provide Astra2Connect in Holland.
    “Even in countries with a high DSL penetration like the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, there are still many regions without terrestrial broadband access,” Norbert Willems, managing director of Astra Broadband Services, said in a statement. “With download speeds of up to 2 megabits per second now available, Astra2Connect is a unique possibility for those households where terrestrial high-speed Internet is not immediately available.”
