U.S. Broadband IPTV Company Looks to Compete with Satellite in Asia

[Satellite Today 12-12-08] My Broadband TV (MyBBTV), a U.S.-based provider of television and radio programming via the Internet, is offering a new mix of channels targeted to an Asian-American audience, the company announced Dec. 12.
    In the announcement, the company directly named Asian satellite and cable television services as competitors.
    MyBBTV uses Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) to deliver content to multi-linguistic households in North America. The platform provides a mix of live-broadcast TV and radio channels from countries around the globe and interactive services. Subscribers can also pay for premium content "a-la-carte."
    The service also provides a video-on-demand library with titles from South Asia, Europe and North America.
