[Satellite Today 12-03-08] Thaicom signed a contract with Vietnam Telecom International (VTI) for capacity on the IPStar satellite, Thaicom announced Dec. 3.
The three-year agreement, valued at nearly $3.5 million, will allow VTI, a subsidiary of Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications, to expand its IPStar services to serve applications such as broadband Internet access, mobile trunking, rural voice services and virtual private networks.
IPStar launched broadband satellite services in Vietnam through VTI’s VSAT-IP service brand.
