[Satellite Today 11-06-08] Marine electronics manufacturers Furuno Electric Co. and Japan Radio Co. (JRC) have become 10 percent shareholders in JSAT Mobile Communications Inc., parent company Stratos announced Nov. 6.
Later this year, JSAT Mobile will begin offering the Japanese market Inmarsat broadband mobile satellite services, including Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN), FleetBroadband and SwiftBroadband.
Stratos formed the joint venture company JSAT Mobile in August 2008 with SKY Perfect JSAT Corp. to serve the mobile satellite communications needs of Japanese businesses and government agencies.
