[Satellite Today 09-11-08] As part of a new five-year contract supplying Sky Italia with a fleet of seven automated Satellite News Gathering (SNG) trucks, Arqiva said it will provide Sky Italia with 13.5 MHz of dedicated space segment on the Atlantic Bird 2 satellite and additional ad-hoc capacity as required, Arqiva announced Sept. 11.
Arqiva said it will maintain and provide support for the new SNG fleet, which will be used to cover news events for Sky’s TG24 news channel and progressively replace Sky Italia’s existing SNG fleet in Rome, also supplied by Arqiva, in 2009.
