[Satellite Today 08-08-08] EADS Astrium has turned over operations of the BADR-6 satellite to Arabsat as part of the in-orbit delivery contract, the satellite manufacturer announced Aug. 8.
BADR-6, based on a Eurostar E2000+ model and launched in July, is the third spacecraft built by Astrium for Arabsat. The payload features 24 C-band and 20 Ku-band transponders.
Arabsat already has signed contract with Middle East and African ISP provider Talia and satellite communication provider CETel for capacity on BADR-6.
