[Satellite Today 07-31-08] DirecTV has incorporated Entropic’s channel stacking switch (CSS) technology in DirecTV’s SWM-ODU dish unit.
The technology enables delivery of Ka- and Ku-band satellite signals from the dish to set-top box receivers in the home over a single cable.
Due to improved aesthetics, DirecTV hopes that the technology also will generate greater customer acceptance, shorter installation times and decrease customer installation wait time, the company said.
