[Satellite Today – 06-03-08] The Star One C2 satellite has been declared operational, Thales Alenia Space said June 3.
Following the final acceptance review in May, control of the satellite has been transferred to Star One. The satellite, designed and built by Thales Alenia Space, is equipped with 28 C-band and 16 Ku-band transponders as well as an X-band payload for military use.
Star One C2 is dedicated to the Brazilian satellite operator Star One, owned by Embratel (80 percent) and GE International Holdings (20 percent).
