[Satellite Today – 5-21-08] GlobeCast signed a deal with Brazilian broadcaster Rede Record Internacional TV to distribute channels throughout Asia, GlobeCast said May 21.
Under the agreement, GlobeCast will use SatLink’s AsiaSat 2 platform to deliver the content, a mix of programming aimed at Brazilian expatriates. AsiaSat 2, located at 100.5 ° East, provides coverage into 53 countries in Asia, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Africa.
GlobeCast, a subsidiary of France Telecom, has provided Rede with distribution throughout Europe since 2006 via the Astra 1L satellite.
