[Satellite Today – 4-24-08] The Russian Satellite Communications Company’s (RSCC) Express-AM33 satellite is operational, the company confirmed April 23.
Express-AM33 satellite was launched aboard a Proton rocket from Baikonur Space Center in late January and put into operation April 14 at 96.5º East as part of RSCC’s constellation.
The spacecraft is designed to provide a full range of communications and broadcasting services in C- and Ku-band, including digital TV services in standard-and high-definition formats, broadband Internet access, and data transmission, videoconferencing and VSAT networks.
