[Satellite Today – 1-24-08] Eutelsat has signed a deal with Melody Zen to use the Eurobird 9 satellite to deliver its signal across Europe, the companies announced Jan. 24.
The channel, which will be delivered in both standard- and high-definition formats, is uplinked to Eurobird 9 from Eutelsat’s teleport in Rambouillet, near Paris.
“We have the satisfaction of benefiting from a powerful primary network for reaching cable operators and ADSL networks across Europe, and we can simultaneously progressively increase our satellite audience equipped for direct-to-home reception from 9 degrees East,” Melody Zen’s CEO Bruno Lecluse, said in a statement.
