[12-27-07 – Satellite Today] Serafina Holdings Ltd.’s acquisition of Intelsat Holdings Ltd. has been approved by the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the FCC announced in a release Dec. 19.
Serefina will acquire Intelsat for $16.4 billion, including $11.4 billion in Intelsat debt. The deal was announced in June and has already been approved by competition authorities in the European Union.
The FCC released a statement that concluded that the deal would have no impact on competition.
