[12-26-07 – Satellite Today] Wegener Corp. has added an additional high-definition (HD) channel in the United States and Canada, the company announced Dec. 20.
An unnamed large U.S. cable programmer is using Wegener satellite receiver equipment to distribute HD video programming service to cable and satellite affiliates.
“We are excited to support this endeavor,” Ned Mountain, president and COO of Wegener, said in a statement. “With this additional new HD channel Wegener now supports a total of 18 commercial HD channels carried over satellite within the U.S. and Canada.”
