Spanish satellite operator Hispasat is launching a new video-on-demand (VOD) TV service for its customers with the help of a new software partner, Quadrille. The new OTT platform, Push VOD, will include Quadrille’s QuadriFast software package, which aims to allow end-users to watch content without the need of internet access.

Hispasat said it will be marketing the platform to its TV customers, as well as other potential end-users in the mobile, enterprise, and government market segments. The operator did not release a time table for the roll out of Push VOD.

“Innovation in audio-visual services is part of Hispasat’s DNA,” said Hispasat CCO Ignacio Sanchis. “We always seek to offer the best solutions that allow our clients to develop and grow their services via satellite. Thanks to the solution that we’ve developed with Quadrille, our clients will be able to offer added value services, such as VOD or catch-up TV, in a simple and efficient manner.”
