Hughes Network Systems’ Jupiter System platform will connect more than 7,200 sites across Mexico through new contracts. Stargroup, Apconet/Aitelecom, Eutelsat, and Globalsat each won awards under Mexico’s Internet para Todos initiative and independently selected the Jupiter system to connect Community Wi-Fi and internet access sites.

Stargroup also tapped Hughes for Ka-band capacity from the Jupiter satellite fleet for an integrated solution.

The Hughes Jupiter system operates on more than 75 satellites and supports consumer and enterprise broadband, cell backhaul, aero, and maritime mobility connections. It includes hubs and very small aperture terminals (VSATs); private, cloud-delivered network management; and dynamic inroute configuration.

“Hughes is proud to be the trusted supplier of satellite networking technology for this important initiative to help close the digital divide in Mexico,” said Ramesh Ramaswamy, executive vice president and general manager of the International Division at Hughes. “Each service provider’s selection of the Jupiter System is a testament to the value Hughes technology brings in meeting operator needs for high-performing, economical and efficient satellite solutions.”
