Satellite service provider Marlink has expanded its long-term partnership with SES for dedicated capacity on the O3b mPOWER constellation. SES and Marlink announced the multi-year, multi-million-euro deal on Wednesday.

Marlink will offer O3b mPOWER connectivity services to customers with data-intensive requirements including humanitarian, energy, enterprise, mining, government, and maritime sectors, including OmniAccess’ superyacht customers. O3b mPOWER is SES’s second-generation Medium-Earth Orbit (MEO) constellation set for launch later this year, designed to offer high-throughput and low-latency bandwidth.

Marlink said the software-driven system from SES will allow the service provider to improve its hybrid connectivity options and Smart Network solutions.

“At Marlink we are driven by technological progress and committed to bring the full power of a connected and digital world to our customers’ remote workplaces. This is why we are so excited to extend our long-term partnership with SES and to bring the game changing high-throughput low-latency capabilities of O3b mPOWER as part of Marlink’s Smart Network solutions to our most demanding customers in all our market verticals,” commented Erik Ceuppens, Marlink Group CEO.

Marlink is embracing multi-orbit connectivity, and the agreement with SES is its second capacity agreement this week. Marlink also joined OneWeb’s distribution partner program and will offer OneWeb’s Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) connectivity to customers.
