Kacific selected Newtec‘s Dialog Very Small Aperature Terminal (VSAT) multiservice platform for Kacific 1, its new High Throughput Satellite (HTS). This is expected to significantly expand broadband service delivery in underserved areas of South East Asia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands.

The initial contract is for $10 million of Newtec Dialog hubs, and is expected to result in further terminal procurements totaling several million in the first years of service. Kacific 1 aims to deliver affordable, high-speed internet broadband to telecommunications companies, ISPs and governments throughout the region, with Newtec’s Mx-DMA return technology aiming to provide high bandwidth efficiency.

“The Kacific Hub, based on the Newtec Dialog multiservice platform, is a pivotal part of the satellite network and we selected Newtec because it demonstrates the highest performance and ability to offer the very high link efficiencies and availabilities required for our Ka-band spot beam system,” said Kacific Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Founder Christian Patouraux.
