Planet has entered into a satellite imagery data supply agreement with Manna Irrigation, an Israeli smart agriculture company that provides growers around the world with irrigation recommendations, crop monitoring maps, and irrigation planning tools.

Manna will incorporate Planet’s monitoring and archive system, PlanetScope, into its prediction services for agricultural irrigation. Manna’s system is sensor-free and wholly based on software that leverages high-resolution, frequently refreshed satellite data and hyper-local weather information to deliver site-specific irrigation recommendations. The partnership aims to increase agricultural water-use efficiency around the globe.

“We chose Planet because of their capability of getting updated imagery on a near-daily basis using the Area Under Management approach providing archive and monitoring data,” said Manna Irrigation CEO Eyal Mor. “We believe every grower in the world should have direct access to personalized and affordable irrigation intelligence which allows optimized and efficient irrigation decisions. We are proud to take part in the efforts of helping growers to improve field performance and reduce water usage, supporting sustainable farming.”

Rivulis established Manna Irrigation in 2016 after acquiring Agam Advanced Agronomy. Manna has solutions customers in multiple global markets, including Brazil and Australia.
