Songhai Labs CEO Charles Awanda told Via Satellite that SatSure will provide information on crop health, soil moisture, weather parameters, evapotranspiration, crop commodity prices, and land-use patterns. More data sets will be added over time. Songhai Labs plans for the data to be useful for all African countries, but the data will be opened up in phases. He said the platform will take the form of an online open data directory for agriculture analysis, along with a data collection and farm management mobile application.

“The innovative solutions offered by SatSure perfectly fall in line with the mission of Songhai Labs to accelerate Innovation in the African continent. A mutual common ground exists between both companies. It was therefore natural for us to team up on this project,” Awanda said.
