North Korea’s plans to launch a carrier rocket with a satellite is not being met favorably in China. According to the Xinhua news agency, citing a Foreign Ministry official, China is concerned about North Korea’s intentions here.
 
Qin Gang, a spokesman for the ministry, said while North Korea was well within its rights to develop a peaceful national space program, these actions and plans needed to be done within the framework of the UN Security Council resolutions.
 
North Korea’s KCNA news agency says that the country plans to launch the Kwangmyongsong-3 satellite via a Unha-3 carrier rocket from the Sohae Space Center later this month.
