CASBAA Re-elects Chairman; adds Disney Executive as Member
The Cable & Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia (CASBAA) has re-elected Marcel Fenez, global director of entertainment and media practice for PricewaterhouseCoopers, as its chairman.
Robert Gilby, senior vice president and managing director of Disney-ABC International Television (Asia Pacific) was named as a new member of CASBAA’s board. CASBAA’s remaining board members, including AsiaSat CEO Peter Jackson and HBO Asia CEO Jonathan Spink, retained their seats.
DirecTV Appoints Pepsi CEO to Lead Company
DirecTV named Pepsi Co. CEO Michael White as its president and CEO, replacing DirecTV interim CEO Larry Hunter effective Jan. 1. Before joining Pepsi as vice president of planning in 1990, White previously held executive positions at Frito-Lay North America, Frito-Lay International, Avon Products, Bain & Co. and Arthur Andersen & Co.
EMS CEO Resigns
EMS Technologies CEO and board member Paul Domorski has resigned from the company, and Executive Vice President and COO Neilson Mackay has been elected to replace Domorski as president and CEO. Mackay also was elected to the company’s board.
Cheryl Galloway, a business aviation sales professional, was hired as a senior account manager for EMS’ Sky Connect division to promote its Forté in-flight office capability products and solutions to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
Sea Launch Names Chief Restructuring Officer
Sea Launch named Christopher Picone Chief Restructuring Officer to lead reorganizing efforts throughout the company’s bankruptcy proceedings.
Sea Launch and its affiliated entities filed voluntary petitions for chapter 11-bankruptcy protection in June with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court of Delaware.
Sirius XM Radio Chairman Leaves Company
Gary Parsons, the founder of XM Satellite Radio and chairman prior to the merger of Sirius and XM, has resigned as a director and chairman of the board of Sirius XM Radio.
The Sirius XM board appointed Eddy Hartenstein, an independent director, to serve as non-executive chairman.
