It notified Congress of a possible sale to Korea of 46 SM-2 Block IIIA Tactical missiles, 35 SM-2 Block IIIB Tactical missiles, 3 SM-2 Block IIIB Telemetry Missiles, 84 SM-2 missile containers and associated test and support equipment, spare and repair parts, training, training equipment, publications and logistical support.
That would total an estimated cost of $170 million.
Raytheon Co. [RTN] makes Standard Missiles.
The proposed sale will enhance Korean defensive capabilities and increase interoperability with U.S. and multinational forces supporting coalition operations. South Korea already has these missiles in its inventory and will have no difficulty absorbing these items.
