[Satellite Today 10-24-08] NSR expects the Indian satellite market to be a multi-billion dollar opportunity by 2013, according to a study released Oct. 22.
Growth in India’s DTH market will be one of the strong drivers, according to “Indian Satellite Markets.” With a subscriber base of 7 million and growth expected of 20 percent year-on-year, “it is not surprising there are already five DTH operators vying for a piece of this action with a sixth waiting in the wings,” the study said.
The VSAT industry in India also is poised to make gains, with more than 175,000 sites in place by 2013, the study said.
