[Satellite Today – 6-19-08] Globecomm Systems is to launch a new media processing center architecture for the Asia region, the company said June 18. The company is launching the architecture at CommunicAsia this week.
    The architecture has been designed for the conversion of video into a wide variety of formats for distribution to cable TV, DVB satellite or handheld, and Internet video at many different bit rates and formats for live or file-based applications. Globecomm has incorporated its MPC architecture into large-scale broadcast center design projects in Asia and North America, and officially introduced the Media Processing Center and services at NAB earlier this year.
