[Satellite Today – 06-05-08] GlobeCast has made an acquisition intended to boost its prospects in the Asia-Pacific region, the company announced June 5.
    GlobeCast and the Pacific Century Group reached a conditional agreement for the acquisition by GlobeCast Asia of Hong Kong-based broadcast services company Pacific Century Matrix Ltd. Pacific Century’s Hong Kong teleport will also be interconnected with GlobeCast’s 12 teleports and technical operations centers around the globe as well as with the company’s satellite and fiber content distribution network.
    “The addition of [Pacific Century] to the group will serve to dramatically increase the growth that GlobeCast has already been seeing in Asia for the past few years,” GlobeCast Asia CEO David Justin said in a statement.
    When the transaction is complete, Pacific Century will be renamed GlobeCast Hong Kong. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
