The Boeing Co. [BA] seeks workers in the Houston area with NASA mission operations experience.

Those mission operations specialists would aid Boeing in its bid for a facilities development and operations contract (FDOC).

Current mission support operations contract employees are encouraged to submit a contact form at http://active.boeing.com/defense-space/space/fdoc/ to receive information on an open house set for Saturday.

FDOC consolidates a portion of space program operations and mission support operations contracts at Johnson Space Center.

The contract includes development, sustaining engineering, operations and maintenance of the training, flight planning, reconfiguration and control-center facilities for current human spaceflight programs. The contract also includes developing and maintaining the software applications used in these facilities.

NASA is scheduled to select a contractor in November. The four-year contract will have two one-year options that could extend the agreement to 2014.
