[Satellite Today – 4-23-08] The Modern Times Group (MTG) continues to see a fall in the number of direct-to-home (DTH) subscribers in the Nordic region, the company announced April 22.
MTG subsidiary Viasat Broadcasting reported a total of 786,000 DTH subscribers at the end of March, a decline of nearly 2 percent from 802,000 subscribers reported Dec. 31.
There was some good news, with Viasat’s average revenue per user climbing nearly 10 percent compared to the 2007 first quarter. The company also saw subscribers for its personal video recorder product grow 12 percent to 82,000 since the end of December.
