[Satellite Today – 2-22-08] Radyne has completed initial testing and analysis of its SkyWire shared SCPC circuit, the company announced Feb. 21.
Radyne’s SkyWire Gateway uses a single shared carrier between the two sides of an SCPC link, allowing for a reduction in total required bandwidth while improving user throughput per site.
Radyne claims the circuit can provide bandwidth savings of 20 to 45 percent over conventional links and users can expect a 10 to 45 percent increase in traffic capacity per site.
