[10-30-07 – Satellite Today] Telesat Canada posted increases in revenue and profit in the third quarter of 2007, the company announced Oct. 30.
The company posted operating revenue of 130.4 million Canadian dollars ($136.1 million), up 15 percent from the third quarter of 2006. Net earnings 26.4 million Canadian dollars ($27.5 million) compared to 19.8 million Canadian dollars ($20.7 million) in 2006.
The acquisition of Telesat by Loral Space and Communications has been approved by the U.S. and Canadian governments and is expected to be completed soon.
