Harris Selected For Potential DMSP Follow-up Contract

[09-26-07 – Satellite Today] Harris Corp. has been selected for a potential five-year, $10.7 million follow-on contract to provide technical engineering and support for the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program (DMSP), the company announced Sept. 25.

Harris will manage, maintain and repair the system’s ground equipment and software under the new Ground Systems Engineering and Depot Services 2 contract, which also includes ground system support for WindSat/Coriolis, a demonstration project to measure wind speed and wind direction of the ocean’s surface from space.
