      Global Energy, RAMTelecom To Provide Wireless Broadband For Remote Sites

      Global Energy Services Ltd. will provide a communications network for an unidentified North American oil and gas exploration and production company for use at remote sites in western Canada. RAMTelecom Inc. will serve as the exclusive provider of satellite services to the network.
      Global Energy will provide on-site communications systems, including mobile satellite phones and satellite connections, while RAMTelecom will provide the satellite-based network infrastructure that will enable broadband data, voice, fax and Internet communications.
      The one-year contract is valued at up to $2 million and is renewable.

      Intelsat Launches Global Maritime Solution

      Intelsat Ltd. has added a maritime service to its GlobalConnex portfolio of services, the company announced.
      Utilizing Intelsat’s global C-band capacity, the Network Broadband Global Maritime service operates at rates up to 2 megabits per second. The initial service offering provide continuous communications with bandwidth rates ranging from 128 kilobits per second (kbps) to 512 kbps for a fixed monthly fee.
      Oilfield services provider Schlumberger has signed a multi-year agreement to distribute the service to the oil and gas market.
