Hughes Unveils Hybrid DSL/Satellite In Europe

      Hughes Network Systems’ HughesNet Managed Network Services is available in Europe, the company announced July 17.

      The suite of virtual private network solutions for multi-site enterprise networks offers customers a choice of broadband access technologies at each site. Hughes has negotiated wholesale DSL arrangements with providers in several European countries and will deploy more than 4,000 lines of ADSL sites for enterprise customers by the end of the third quarter 2007.

      "Customers can choose terrestrial, satellite or both technologies on a site-by-site basis to optimize their objectives for cost, deployment speed, reliability, and bandwidth ¬— all delivered and backed by Hughes,” Mike Darcy, president of Hughes Europe, said in a statement.
