Eutelsat Communications announced May 15 that its HotBird-2 satellite has been rebranded as Eurobird-9 and redeployed to 9° East, marking the opening of a video neighborhood adjacent to Eutelsat’s premium HotBird position.
The repositioning of Eurobird-9 followed the 2006 launches of the HotBird-7A and -8 satellites which are located at 13° East along with HotBird-6.
