The U.S. Department of the Interior is seeking nominations for membership on the new National Geospatial Advisory Committee (NGAC), Interior Deputy Secretary P. Lynn Scarlett announced on May 14.

The NGAC is to advise the federal government on management of national geospatial programs and the development of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI) promoting the sharing of geospatial data throughout all levels of government, plus private, academic and non-profit sectors.

The NGAC will include approximately 24 members serving two-year terms after selection for balanced representation of various partners’ viewpoints in national geospatial activities.
