Sirius Cuts First Quarter Loss On Record Revenues

[5/02/07] Sirius Satellite Radio recorded a record $204 million in revenues in the 2007 first quarter, a 61 percent increase from revenues of $126.7 million for the same period in 2006, the company announced May 1.

Sirius reported a net loss of $144.7 million for the first quarter of 2007, a 68 percent improvement from a net loss of $458.5 million for the first quarter of 2006.

Advertising revenue was $6.7 million during the first quarter of 2007, and average monthly revenue per subscriber was $10.46.

The broadcaster ended the quarter, which closed March 31, with 6.6 million subscribers, up 61 percent from 4.1 million at the end of the 2006 first quarter.
