Thuraya signed a service provider agreement making China Satellite Communications Global Ltd. the sole service provider and distributor of Thuraya products and services throughout China, Thuraya announced April 22. Thuraya also signed a memorandum of understanding with China Satellite parent company China Satcom to leverage the portfolios and competitiveness of their respective satellite telecom services.
The partnership is part of Thuraya’s efforts to have the commercial infrastructure in place before the scheduled launch of the Thuraya-3 satellite in the fourth quarter.
