SM-2 Update

A major maneuverability upgrade to the Standard Missile-2 (SM-2) will bolster its performance against new anti-ship weapons, Raytheon announced.

Performance of the update, crafted by Raytheon and the Navy, was validated, according to the company.

SM-2 is operational on guided missile cruisers, destroyers and frigates in the Navy and is in operation with 13 allied navies.
