Hughes Network Systems signed a contract with TerreStar Networks Inc., a majority owned subsidiary of Motient Corp., to design, develop and manufacture a turnkey satellite base station subsystem (S-BSS) and satellite air interface protocol, the company announced April 18.

The contract includes installation at TerreStar’s two satellite gateway facilities along with related services.

No financial details were disclosed.
