Newtec has released a modulator with hopes it will boost its prospects in the burgeoning Chinese satellite market.

 The company is launching a professional modulator compatible with the ABS-S (Advanced Broadcasting System – Satellite) standard, China’s new standard for DTH broadcasting via satellite.

Newtec plans to unveil the new modulator at the China Content Broadcasting Network (CCBN) show later this month. Newtec has developed the new modulator in cooperation with the Chinese Academy of Broadcasting Science and Availink, who will provide receiver chips for the set-top-boxes.
