Arianespace placed two satellites into geostationary transfer orbit on March 11 after its dual launch of military communications satellite Skynet-5A for the British Ministry of Defense, and the civil communications satellite Insat-4B for the Indian Space Research Organization.

The mission marked the 31st Ariane 5 launch, and 17th consecutive success.
